First Layer Issue

Just a few days ago, my MK2 was printing beautifully. However, I tried printing today and got this weird issue where some lines of the first layer was missing:

Nothing was changed and I tried an old print that had worked before and the same problem is happening on the first layer. Any idea what might be wrong?

Re: First Layer Issue

Hi Alex,
it looks like the second layer is poor too (looking through the gaps in the first layer, )
could it be, that the filament is not running smoothly, and there are areas of under extrusion?

sometimes if the filament on the roll gets loose, it causes loops of filament to become misaligned on the drum and virtually forms a knot in the filament on the drum,
which can restrict free delivery of filament.

Alex,

After checking what Joan suggested I would also look at the filament drive gear and make sure the grub screw is tightened against the flattened part of the motor post/axle.

I'll toss in a third opinion: partial nozzle clog maybe? I'd try some cold pulls for good measure..
