Filament broken after higher hours printing
Hi guys,
Well, my issue with my Prusa i3 MK2S is which after 2 hours printing suddenly the filament is broken without clear reason.
This is a bit frustrating because I can see how the extruder continues printing but without filament inside the extruder because it is broken and it is difficult to extract it from the extruder.
I have printed others gcodes with less time of printing and they looks right but the issues come when my printer consumes higher time printing with other gcodes.
I would like to know some info of interest for trying to solve this important problem as soon as possible. I do not sure but I think I am not the only one with same issue.
Thank you so much.
Re: Filament broken after higher hours printing
Have a look at my recent problem, i listed towards the end of page one. I had issues with filament jamming due to my retraction settings.
Re: Filament broken after higher hours printing
Does the filament break before it enters the extruder? I have had this problem before on older rolls of PLA. While it can be a pain, its not a factor of the printer, but rather the filament has gotten brittle. This happens more as the roll lessens, there is more of a natural bend to the filament as it is pulled from the roll.
Re: Filament broken after higher hours printing
Hi guys,
Yes my PLA filament is broken before it enter to extruder. So I think it could be a bad quality of PLA. So I will change it for other material or brand.
I hope it works correctly then.
Thanks guys.
