Extremely thin/stringy extrution

Greetings to all!..

I finished building my MK2 kit today and am having all sorts of trouble printing.

Calibration went without a hitch and said everything was properly aligned.

The problem is that every print I have tried (including every test print on the sd card) ends up extruding something that looking like fine thread vs a proper layer of plastic. I thought the problem might be a blocked nozzle so I attempted to clear it by inserting a thin piece of wire into the tip (yes, the nozzle was at operating temperature) but that had no effect at all. My next thought was to increase the flow rate..On the LCD screen I adjusted flow up to 160% and also tried a higher extrution multiplier in Simplify 3d on a print that works in my other printer (Hatchbox Alpha). This had no effect either. The thing that really has me stumped is at the start of every print when priming the nozzle on the edge of the bed the line looks perfect! As soon as it moves to the middle for the actual print the layer thins out, has trouble sticking to the bed and produces major gaps between passes.

Attached is a photo of a few test prints..

Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how to fix this?

Thanks,

Darren

Re: Extremely thin/stringy extrution

Lower your nozzle with live z adjust. Looks the same on my MK2 when the nozzle is too high.
