Err. MINTEMP but is reading temperature fine?

I've only had my printer a short time. About a day's worth of print time.

This morning I found the printer had completed a print but now reports: ERR: MINTEMP BED.

Both the hotend and the bed temps are displayed on the LCD and are the correct room temperature.

I checked the cables and they appear fine. I pressed the X (Cancel?) button on the LCD and it reset - now proudly reporting ERR: MINTEMP.

It wont heat or start printing. It starts up as ERR: MINTEMP BED and if I reset the LCD, it reports ERR: MINTEMP. The temps it is reporting are correct. Anything else that can cause that error?

...And now it's working. Surely, 15c isn't the minimum temperature? I can understand it not heating if the temperature reading was 0c (likely not connected.)

I had the same error message pop up today. I restarted and everything has been going ok since then. I've been printing for months and this is first time I've seen this message.

Yes, 15 degrees is the cut-off.

The problem is that the thermistor becomes unreliable at less than 16 degrees. Its value is 200 KOhms at 25 degrees NTC, so the lower it gets, the higher the value.

Re: Err. MINTEMP but is reading temperature fine?

I had the Err: MINTEMP BED message tonight and went searching for how to get my printer running again. It has happened a few times recently with no seeming pattern.
I didn't realize 15° C was a cutoff that would disable the printer, but luckily I thought I should test the temperature sensors to see if they were working. So I put my hand on the bed until I saw the temp rise to 18 and then I held the heat block until it rose to 17 and then pressed the reset button on the printer.
And that did the trick! At once I could set the bed and extruder temps and carry on printing.
So the big solution was simply to warm the bed and nozzle a little above 15° C, press reset and it's "fixed"!

Oh! And I guess the problem was I'm in Minnesota and it's below zero F with my printer near a window (yes, a closed window, but still).
