did you use the ConfigurationStore.cpp that was online a few days ago, where the eeprom storing of the e-steps has been disabled (for test purposes) ?
or did you swap that file with the one that came along with 3.0.12-RC2 ?

It's a merge of tag v3.0.12 (commit 0473b7e) so is the same as the current live, production firmware. The M500 "bug" was introduced between RC2 and the final release, so this doesn't have that bug.
