Different Z Adjustments for Different layer heights?

I have been printing great .2mm layer height and today decided to try .1mm. I spent all day trying to get it tuned in. Live Z adjustment had to be brought down from -.365 to -.475 to get proper squish so perimeters and infill would squish together. Anyone else finding the same?

I print with different layer heights all the time (0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2...) as well as variable layer height, I use the same live Z adjust value. Remember that the first layer is always 0.2mm no matter the layer height for the rest of the print.

I'm using S3D for a slicer and have first layer set to be .1; although the LCD screen tells me z height on the first layer is .15.

💡 i think i've read somewhere here at the forum, that - due to mechanical restrictions - the first layer has to be at least 0.15mm, while 0.20mm always is recommended. that's why you shouldn't try to force your slicer underneath that limit. furthermore all the mk2 settings i've seen for slic3r and s3d always use a 0.20mm first layer.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Interesting point. Haven't been aware about that restriction. I may check my slicer settings aswell...

Will have to change up settings and give that a try. Will report back when I get a chance
