Back fan it's not working

Hi everybody, I'm doing my first print with PLA, I've notice that the fan on the back it's not working, the one on the side (small squary one) it's working. From the lcd I can just adjust the speed of that fun I guess. I was wondering if ithis fan it's supposed to work and maybe i plugged wrongly on the pcb or if it just need to work in special situations... Many thanks in advance.

Re: Back fan it's not working

Hi Francesco

Sorry, you are not too clear as to which fan is not working. There are 2 fans related to the extruder, a small regular fan on the side for cooling the hot end and a larger radial fan at the rear for cooling the part (PLA only) during printing.

The extruder fan cannot be controlled; it automatically turns on when the hot end is at 50 degrees or above. The part fan is controlled by GCode generated by the slicer or from the front panel.

You need to ensure that the plugs for both fans are connected to the correct pins on the RAMBo and that they are oriented correctly. You can test both fans with a 9 volt battery, to ensure they are working.

The part fan can be controlled from the front panel; you have to select the fan speed and then press the knob to set the speed.

Francesco

Sorry, just re-read your post. Your part fan is not working; check it is connected and oriented correctly on the RAMBo and if you can't get it to work, test it with a 9 volt battery.

Problem solved, thanks! As you suggested, was plugged to the rambo the other way around!
