Sound reduction, Pause printing
Hi, i was wondering what slic3r settings people use to reduce noise.
I am currently printing the EEZY MK2 Robot form thingyverse and although i am very pleased with the results the printer is very loud when using the standard settings.
So i was wondering what settings to use, i gues in particular the infill pattern, speed and acceleration settings.
Thanks

You will want these http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1707045
Huge reduction in noise, I was so impressed, should be a standard print for anyone with this machine
Re: Sound reduction, Pause printing
3 things...
1) For acceleration, use a value of 750.
2) Use the Color Change profile to prevent the z motor from jumping so much
3) Once the print job starts, use the LCD rotation to slow down the print to further reduce the sound

I think you should watch this clip:

Quality Linear Bearings make a Huge difference. I purchased SKF bearings and they are expensive. I bought 6 of them to take care of my Y axis which was real loud and the x axis also which was also pretty loud. SKF in the bearing business is known for quality so that's why they come with a steep price.

I just ordered today Prusa's MK2s upgrade kit with polished rails and new bearings and will put the new linear bearings in my z axis and see how much better quality there new bearings are. I could have spent another $80 on SKF bearings for the z-axis but the Z axis isn't worked like the X and Y axis so I'll just use the prusa upgraded MK2S bearings.
