Slic3r (Slicer) 1.30.0.25 Bridging Along The Long Edge
Hello all;
Issue: Slic3r (Slicer) 1.30.0.25 is bridging along the long edge not parallel with the short edge.
[Zipped STL and gcode file of the example file pictured are attached - a part of a redesigned Prusa Spool Holder assembly.]
Additionally, I have attached pictures of the most relevant Slic3r settings. Aside from the nozzle temp, bed temp and retraction, I have not changed anything to print with Taulman 3D TECH-G filament, which should not have any effect on the slicing. Also, everything so far has been sliced at 0.35mm FAST setting, on my end.
(2) observations:
1. Previous iteration of this part had the bridging along the short edge of the "recess" or cavity, hence no red flags or concerns.
2. When viewed on the Slic3r 'Preview' and 'Layers' Tabs at 0.10mm DETAIL and 0.20mm NORMAL settings, the bridge is along the short edge, as expected - at least for the large openings.
(Q): Do I need to turn ON or OFF a Slic3r setting for the bridging to go along the sane/logical path or should I just start using KISSlicer?
Thank you all for your time and input.
EDIT: Perimeter count was increased from default (2) to (3), plus infill density and pattern.

Re: Slic3r (Slicer) 1.30.0.25 Bridging Issue(s)
Hello everyone,
Am I the only one that has these bridging issues, or am I doing something wrong in Slic3r?
In this instance the "bridging" is suspended in mid air at some point completely. At first I thought that it was and overly aggressive cooling causing the filament to curl back after it reached the edge. It was only after I went into Slic3r's Preview tab had I noticed that it actually does this by design.
Is PR aware of this issue or am I missing something? Any feedback would be greatly welcomed.
[Gcode file has been attached for details.]
Thank you.

Re: Slic3r (Slicer) 1.30.0.25 Bridging Along The Long Edge
The first issue is not an issue at all. The bridges are anchored by the squares and the squares are regular, so the bridging direction over the squares does not matter.
The second issue, where the bridges start in the middle of a neighboring region, will be fixed in the upcoming Slic3r 1.31 release. The new Slic3r will detect merge the bridging regions where needed. Stay tuned.
