Slic3r result differ from the original object

He,
i'm slicing an object downloaded from Thingiverse the name is Twisted Vase. the object https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1885937/#files . The object loaded in Slic3r seems to be solid but after the slicing some hole appears . The only thing i do is a rotation 90 degree on the X axes.
Any suggestion ?
Massimo

Not everything on Thingiverse can print. You should check the file with a error fixer like netfabb.

Can you post any images of your issue? That would help a lot.

Slic3r does not work correctly with non-manifold STLs. You should repair the STL or use a different silcer.

Here's a screenshot for anyone curious:

of coarse you are right but in the info box Slic3r say Manifold: Yes and does not give any error.
This is the second object that Slic3r does not slice correctly, the first one i found was a ring called something like crown . Sliced with cura all was ok and i printed it. Using Slic3r i was not able to generate a valid object to print.
I suppose it is an error of Slic3r and this is the reason i posted it.

Re: Slic3r result differ from the original object

It's not a problem with Slic3r, it's a bad stl. See also the already existing comment on thingiverse. A vase should be solid to print it in vase mode. Else you have a thin wall, which is always tricky to print. In this special case, if you look close to the top end of the vase, you can see the wall thickness is not even equal, it get's thinner where the "spikes" are. A printer can't print thinner lines than around 1 nozzle diameter without some fancy tricks. That's why Slic3r skips the too thin sections. If you enable detect thin wall feature, it will slice but the printed result wouldn't look good in this case.
