Slic3r creating holes in mesh
Earlier today I installed Slic3r Prusa Edition to get used to it prior to receiving my printer and when I dropped in my first model I noticed there were multiple issues with the mesh. I checked the STL in 3D builder and everything looked fine there and I even loaded the model into cura and it was fine.
When the model should look like this
And I've had issues with another model having holes
And in both cases the print preview looks even worse. Is there anything I can do to fix this or not?
Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
MeshMixer has some functions that can fix meshes. I have found it does a decent job on some of these types of issues.

Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
But the mesh seems fine when viewed in cura or 3D buillder so would it even be possible to "fix" it in meshmixer since it only seems to be broken by slic3r.
Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
Yes but the mesh is obviously not fine... With which software did you made this model?
Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
I modeled it in fusion 360
Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
And is this only one body? It seems that some parts of the model are not joined together.
Re: Slic3r creating holes in mesh
The first model was made with a rectangular pattern creating multiple bodies but they were combined into 1 and for the second model it was designed as a single body throughout.
EDIT: I brought the models into meshmixer and with the first model there were 2 errors found on the backside of the model and after auto-repairing those it seemed to fix the top of the model in slic3r. The second model has 11 errors on it but when auto-repaired it alters the shape of the model drastically.

See also this thread for another Fusion 360 to Slic3r person who is having issues.
