Really bad layer shifting

After I finish a successful print, I of course, start another print! 😀 Everytime so far though, this print that I've started after a successful print always has super bad (and I mean really bad) layer shifting. Right now I'm doing nothing to correct it. There are no objects or anything in the way that would prevent the extruder or bed from moving. I haven't done the loose pulley test yet but everytime to fix the issue all I do is reset the printer. So far the resets seem to "fix" the issue or at least prevent it from happening again. But it's wasting a lot of my filament. 🙁

Re: Really bad layer shifting

Which direction is the layer shift occurring? X, Y or both?

If it's Y only, then have a look at the pulley and make sure it's not touching the motor body. There should be a couple of mm gap between motor body and pulley. If there is not, then move the pulley to the left and the motor body to the right by the same amount.

It's occurring it both directions. 🙁 I'm made sure there is a few millimeters between the pulley and the motor. I've made sure the belts are nice a snug. I am not sure what else it could be.

Re: Really bad layer shifting

I tried quite mode and my x-axis stopped moving all in one direction. it would move towards the endstop but not the other direction. just sounded like it was grinding a gear. When it's in high power mode, it works fine but still fails the pulley test.
