Printing from SD card

Hi there.
I know there is a thread a couple down asking about putting files onto the SD card, I didn't want to side track that thread.
Well make a long story shor . I was well into a 36 hour print.. Only had 12 more hours and this one project would have been done. To my horror windows decided to randomly reboot when I put my USB drive in to copy files for work (been doing it all week without fail). So needless to say print is toast 🙁
So to never have this issue again (and learned a very valuable lesson) print from the SD card.
Now my questions:
1) can I monitor the print via prontface? I know if you connect it resets the printer but if I reboot my computer I can go and monitor it then.
2) if the printer starts to mess up I can't reset it from the computer prontface. Have to cancel print from the lcd cscreen. You can do thst right? Otoprint would do it?
3) read issues about computer seeing the SD card in the printer, so need a SD reader/writer for PC then plug the SD card into printer after coping. If the PC sees the SD card, the transfer rate of coping the file is a killer.
I usually run the printer from my PC via prontface and am able to preheat/ cancel etc the printer before/during/after print.
Suggestions?

Thanks

Octoprint + UPS is the way to go to ensure that no external issues can influence you printer.

With OctoPrint, everything can be monitored and controlled via PC/Smartphone, no matter where you are (assuming you get your router set up for this).

I used to use the SD card on my Chinese clone, but not any more. With 2 RPs with OctoPrint, I can do everything I need.

And yes, copying to the SD card via the printer's USB interface is exceptionally slow.
