PEI damaged yet again. Fix with superglue?
Hi all,
I guess this is in the tips category but is a bit of an experiment so YMMV.
I tore the stink out of my PEI experimenting with ColorFabb HT (high temp PETG) listening to Prusa recommendations to use Windex. Didn't help one bit. Attempted to remove after letting cool down to ambient and the spatula slid right into the PEI as if all was well, pull the part and off came a quarter/1 euro coin sized piece of PEI. Not going to get another PEI until my 2.5 arrives so I got desperate and filled in with superglue. Seems to be holding up OK up to 100°C bed temperatures. Just open windows when working with this much Superglue, that stuff is nasty.
To remove superglue, heat bed to +120°C and it will pop right off the PCB.
It is working for me until the steel sheet build surfaces arrive. Hopefully this will get you guys running again as well.
