Not printing for first few layers
Whenever I try to print anything using the Prusa Slic3r 3mm configuration settings the first 3-5 layers don't print at all. It just sits there going over the glass plate not extruding any material at all. Once it gets to about the 5th layer it starts extruding material.
This is with both 3mm PLA or ABS, and with the glass print plate prepared according to the material settings.
I've also got the suggested filament dust remover attached and its loaded with oil.
Is there any particular type of oil that should be used? or is any cooking grade oil sufficient.

Resolved, re-levelling the printer fixed it. Apparently it had gotten moved once or twice (plus the occasional earthquake) seemed to have thrown the bed level off enough.
