Excess material at start of new layer
I'm getting excess material at the start of each perimeter. Is there a setting in slic3r that will reduce or eliminate that?
I'm using the default slicer config ini file from the prusa3d website and Prusa ABS 3.0 mm filament.
Some slicer settings that might be relevant:
Layer height 0.2mm
Seam position Random
Diameter 2.9mm (confirmed by calipers)
Extrusion multiplier 0.98
Extruder Temp 285
Nozzle diameter 0.4mm
Retraction Length 1.5mm
Retraction speed 20mm/s
Extra length on restart 0
I attached a picture of a single perimeter hollow rectangle.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Re: Excess material at start of new layer
Those are starting points.
You can try tweaking the retraction settings in Slic3r Printer settings tab. Every material works a bit differently and sometimes it needs some adjustments.
Alternatively you can try the alternative KISSlicer from here http://www.prusa3d.cz/wp-content/uploads/kisslicer.zip
