adding Helper discs
Hi!!
I want to print a large massive object in ABS and im thinking that adding these helper discs
Prusa was using for some of the MK2s upgraded parts is a good idea, but i dont know how to
add these? Is it posible to do this in slic3r somehow??
Does anyone know how to do this? I have only the STL files for the parts i want to print.

Re: adding Helper discs
This can be accomplished using MeshMixer which is a good tool to have around.
Design some discs, and your object, and then "mesh" them together where you want them.

Re: adding Helper discs
I use these ears in Scli3r PE. The way I do it:
1. place your to be printed model in Scli3r (.stl)
2. add the ear(s) you want to use (.stl) at the desired place, so you can easy access with a spatula for removing (not at the back ). The ear can be placed "every where". It wil not harme your to be printed model, because you cut the ear away after printing
3. then export as .stl (tab Plater->Export plate as STL.. and I add in the name the word "ear", so I know this is a STL with ear attached, and the sign for me that this can be printed right away (when I want to print later, because the printer is now bussy
4. then "delete all" on the the Plater, you have an clean plate then
5. add the stl file composed at point 3 to the plate
6. result will be the desired model with ear
7. Export Gcode
8. Done
When you hit "slice now" you wil see exactly what it will be if you look at "layers"
I use very often the ears because I want to prevent damaging my PEI, witch happens quite easy when the stuff sticks like 👿
