Z axis failing incredibly bad- think I'm sending back

So as a few may have seen, I'm having the absolute worst time getting my printer to run, and now I'm having a Z axis issue when running calibration.

Trying to do the test- it drives itself into the bed so hard I have to reset, or it will say it passed the test and break itself in the process.

I've tried adjusting screws, tightening belts, I don't know what else to do.

I also just learned it knocked itself out so bad it partially crushed the wires that go the the filament sensor.

I'm at my wits end, and I think I'm just going to have to ask for an exchange.

Anybody else having these issues?

How did you partially crushed the wires that go the the filament sensor?
I just dont see how thats possable without assembling the printer wrong.
See photo my z is maxed out at the top and there is a good amount of space.
Could you post some pictures of your printer?

Did you print that filament cover? Texture looks... Different. Lol

Thats the original that came with the printer.
The picture makes it look totaly different then it does, It is smooth shinny and looks like the rest of the extruder body so it must been a lighting/ shine effect that makes it look like it does in the photo

I'm not sure if the sensor became loose during the rattling or what, but there are exposed wires.

That's not the reason for my axis issues though, at least I wouldn't think so.

Show us a picture from the side view of the heat bed, nozzle and pinda probe so we can see the heights of each.

Can't quite tell from the video but it looks like the PINDA is to high.

Never had a problem with it before, but maybe

I can't even see the PINDA in that video... Which makes me think it's way high.
Also, 9 point check should be done with flex attached unsure of that would make a difference.

Is there a red light on top of your PINDA probe? And if you put a piece of metal under it. (Say the print bed) does it turn off?

So with live chat- it IS my pinda probe, for some reason it has a problem with the left side of the bed (red light stays on and it drives itself into the bed)

I'll update

I accidentally posted the last post twice- but i'll use this as an update

talked with live chat, long story short it's as a feared, my printer has faulty parts, 1 including the pinda, so I'm going to send it back.

Thanks prusa team, you have been very helpful.

Based on your coordination I'd say user error 😀

Jokes aside, can you show us your pinda?

edit: glad you found the problem. Hope it is an easy fix.

Here.

You should never ever calibrate Z level without steel plate! It will ruin your printer.
At a Z-level calibration, the PINDA controls the distance down to the steel plate. If there is no steel plate, the printer can not calibrate the Z level.

Only XYZ calibration is performed without steel plate.

Use 10 minutes to read the manual so you do not experience such mistakes!

Yes, you need the steel sheet in place.

That said, this looks like a FW fail too. It should have thrown an error after the first point. It clearly didn’t get a signal, there was no bounce test. Why did it keep trying other probe points? File a ticket.

I'm fully aware of this- but it was doing the exact same thing with the sheet on, and I was told by tech support to remove it and take a video of the error- so as not to damage the sheet in the process.
