XYZ Calibration Keeps Failing on New Build

Hello.

So got the Mk3 kit last week and got it fully assembled. First time with a kit 3d printer as I wanted to know more of the guts of this one than my last pre-assembled printer.

This morning I finished assembly and turned it on and XYZ calibration went fine and gave back 'perpendicular'.

After having issues with dialing in the first layer I decided to readjust the pinda probe.

I've gone through the pre-flight steps a few times and still having an issue with XYZ calibration.
Every time I make sure the head is clean , and from my viewpoint the everything is moving fine.

Here is what occurs each time.
1 - Self Test goes through without an issue.
2 - On XYZ it goes through all 3 itterations of 'Searching bed calibration point' and hits all 4 points.
3 - It comes back saying 'XYZ calibration failed. Please consult the manual.'.

I did check the Pinda probe to make sure it works. It says lit red throughout calibration, and if I go into the calibration menu on the LCD it shows 0 unless I put a pair of pliers underneath it.

And how did you adjust the probe ?

It is failing because the signal its getting at the points isn't as it expects - probably too weak - the Pinda is pretty tight in the holder slacken the bolt sufficiently and then open the gap slightly with a screw driver blade if the Pinda still doesn't want to move - don't try screwing / unscrewing - but don't go all Conan on it. The Pinda would benefit from adjuster nuts top and bottom of the clamp, something I intend to do next time I change out the nozzle.

Get the nozzle in contact with the bed at its centre without the PEI sheet in place - don't try to do this via the settings menu turn each Z stepper clockwise with your fingers to raise, anticlockwise to lower when viewed from the top, then make sure the Pinda touches the fat part of one of the tie wraps that came with the printer and that there is a tiny amount of resistance when you take the tie wrap out.

Then move the Z axis up out of the way again using fingers and restore the PEI sheet.

The next step is the live Z calibration which is the make or break for first prints - they expect you to get a filament to squish a certain amount but if you can see the amount of squish I wish I had your eyes - if you look at the images for correct Z they appear to be 50% of the filament width = correct so I set mine using a vernier caliper to 0.85mm initially but later took it to 0.65mm and so far things have worked fine. The Z number is actually adjusting the fine tuning position of the Pinda in relation to the bed.

Thanks for the help.
It was that and also the X axis was slipping.
