X axis belt shavings
Anyone else have a small pile of x axis belt shavings accumulating on the idler end of the belt? Here's what mine looks like:
I just want to make sure this is normal breaking in/wear and tear and not a sign that something is misaligned. The belt does squeak a bit when moving too.
Re: X axis belt shavings
If those are R1 X Axis parts, that pulley is misaligned in the model and causing your issue. R2 parts align that pulley correctly.

Re: X axis belt shavings
I believe they are R1 parts, as it had the old style method of connecting the belt (the loop method instead of the nice teeth method).
Is the misalignment something I can fix? Or is it a flaw in the R1 part itself and I need to talk to support?

It's a flaw in the R1 part itself. The holes that the screw passes through are out of alignment, causing your pulley to be tilted and thus walking the belt over to the edge where it rubs. You can ask support about it, but I am sure they will probably tell you to print a new part or buy it off their site for a few bucks. If you do ask them, post back here what they say so we can know. 🙂

Well, I assume this is a part that can be printed in PLA instead of PETG. But yes, I'll talk to support first.
Re: X axis belt shavings
Support said it was normal. I shared a video of how my X belt rocks and they said if if the pulley is not lined up right on the motor or the belt is not pressed all the way into the X axis holder it can happen but it isn't a major issue.
I'll add to my long list of things to futz with playing with the X pulley a bit. But later.
