Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
Sounds like you have to think twice about MakerGeeks. How do you know good filament? I found several places online and I'm sure Amazon is an option, but I'm beginning to wonder about Amazon.
You really don't know where things are coming from and... well I'm developing skepticism on where things originate and if it's knock offs. You won't know how it was stored either.
Back to filament. Unless you have a microscope and can test different samples how do you find something reliable? I did a quick search and found four companies, but other than that how do you know?

They have fixed the issues I had with them and that's why I recommend them. The PETG is fantastic. These are parts from a HyperCube Evolution I printed for someone.
I won't even consider Hatchbox PETG or eSun for something like this. I'm actually tempted to just throw my rolls of eSun out. I was printing a one off part for a customer and while removing it from the plate, the eSun black just cracked. Re-printed in PLA and was better, but evenually cracked under heavier stress. The MakerGeeks PETG came out fantastic and is much stronger. I also had fitment issues with raspberry pi camera module printed in eSun. Hatchbox provided a better fitting part with the same settings, but I still like how the MakerGeeks parts come out better.
The price of them on sale is just ridiculous.

Oh, PushPlastic has a BF sale as well.

Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
What about filament size? I haven't heard anything about it since the MK1's UPGRADE from 3mm to 1.75mm kit. What does the MK3 use and why?
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
Does anyone have any experience in the below brands of filament? I posted this a short while ago, but thought I would move it over here.
MakerBot
MG Chemicals
Dremel 3D "poor selection"
SHAXON "Big selection"
As I said in the other thread they also had eSUN, but for two reasons I left it out of my list.

you're looking for 1.75mm filament. That's the size of the bowden tube in the e3D v6 hotend they use.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
I only use Filamentum. It is GREAT stuff and it can be bought in the US from Filimentumone.com with free shipping. They are having a 40% off sale right now....

Corrected the link for you.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
I have experimented with a wide range of PLA brands.
I have had some really good rolls from Microcenter and also some really bad ones. Also their colors change all the time. Orange one day may be drastically different from orange you find months later. So I try to stay away from there.
My absolute favorite is AIO Robotics. It prints very well and their colors are rich. Filament absorbing moisture is a real thing. AIO sells half size rolls which means my rolls are more fresh. Also their orange PLA is nearly identical to Prusa Orange.
Hatchbox, and eSun have been good. It prints well and the ~$22 per kg isn't bad. I use hatchbox for wood too.
Some exotic colors I found are from Ziro, such as marble and red glitter. They come out nice and print well. I don't know if I would use them for regular PLA.
For budget filament I am really liking 3d Solutech. They also have a material similar to polyalchemy they call Ultra. So if you want decent PLA on a budget, or a shine like Polyalchemy then this can get a good start. I did get one bad roll from them (out of 5) but they replaced it with no problems.
And lastly I have a good selection of Protoparadigm which is really good to print with and unique colors but their stocks and website has been super flakey (off line for days at a time) so my trust in them is low at the moment.
To see some of these printed (a little out of date): https://imgur.com/a/XzpDq - All on a Prusa Mk2/S.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
I believe ProtoParadigm recently shut down. It's a shame.
I'll second (or third, or fourth) the people who buy MicroCenter filament. It's nothing special, but it's cheap and reliable for day-to-day use.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
Damn! Who else makes good earthtones as seen in my gallery?

Where is your gallery? Push plastic has nice PLA and has some earth tone colors (and a collection).

Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
I wouldn't touch MakerGeeks with a 10ft pole.
Their filament ground to dust in my printer (wayyyy too brittle to even print), they missed a roll in my shipment, and only told me after delivery that it was because the color was backordered. Then they wanted me to pay to ship 4lbs+ of filament back to them so they could give me a 10% refund.
I said no way, and it took a week of back and forth before they decided to honor their "guarantee" of making a customer happy and give me a full refund.
Plus, the owner tried to push religious crap with a little note in the box.
There are also plenty of posts on the 3d printing subreddit about how bad they are, and even though the BBB is a sham, they have MakerGeeks the worst rating you can get.
No way I'm using their stuff ever again.
I use hatchbox, atomic filament, makergear filament (my other printer besides the MK3 coming), and fillamentum.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
Just got 8.8Kg of MakerGeeks filament, 4 rolls, of their "Grab Bag and what an utter disappointment. I got White, I got Another White (glow in the dark but base color is white or clearish white, Dark dark dark Blue which can pass for black until I read the label it was blue. I got clear which is pretty much whiteish. WTF are they all color blind??? 😥
I would have like some color. I don't think I would ever order this grab bag again with the selection they gave me.

I had pretty much the same experience. I picked up 2x Maker Filament Grab Bag, 4 rolls in total. 2 rolls were regular PLA, 1 in Crystal PLA, and 1 in Raptor PLA. My complaint? I got 2 green rolls and 2 red rolls. In the same order, I also grabbed 4x Transitional Filament Grab Bag. These came on smaller spools, so I ended up with 8 spools. My complaint? All 8 spools are plain clear PLA. One roll is slightly green tinted, and another slightly yellow tinted, but I basically ended up with 8 rolls of clear, 2 green, and 2 red. One is "Crystal" and another "Raptor", though, so I did get what I ordered.
I'm not really upset because I just wanted to get some cheap filament on BF for prototyping/calibrating, but I certainly would have appreciated a little more color variety. I have enough filament in other colors, though, that I knew what I was getting into when I went for the grab bags, and I was okay with that, but still.
I hope I won't run into any issues with the MakerGeeks filaments since I did get quite a bit and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on them in this thread, fingers crossed.
On another note, I also ordered 3 of their mouse pads. They marked them as shipped, sent me an email listing package contents with them listed, even included them on the invoice in the box, but they were no where to be found. I asked Customer Service, and they said they were backordered so they were not included with my order and would be shipped at another time at no additional cost. However, no where on my account does it say I have an active order. No where is there any mention of "backordered". I'm expecting MakerGeeks to completely forget about my me and my mousepads :(. Seems like an issue that their system doesn't have a way for them to send a partial order, or to split orders, or perhaps they can and they just chose not to for me.
Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?
I as of about two weeks ago will no longer buy from Makergeeks, and am looking for a new source for filament. 🙁

That's happened twice to me with filament. When it does ship you will get a new tracking number. You got your BF filament? Mine still hasn't even shipped. I didn't go for grab bags though. I ordered 4 rolls of filament in specific colors so they might have actually oversold my colors.

Exactly what happened with my filament that I'd mentioned.
Glow in the Dark, wasn't told till AFTER my other filaments shipped that it was backordered. Gave me a stink about refunding that, also

I bought 2 rolls of their flex, Yellow and Blue and it has not shipped yet with no ship date yet. They shipped the grab (garbage) bag of filament though. It's like buying a bag of weed from your local weed dealer thinking you bought resin coated pinecone skunk bugs only to get home and find you spent a $100 on shake.
