Where do you buy your filament in the USA?

Where do you buy filament in the USA? I have been searching around and HobbyKing seems like the low cost provider of PLA. They have limited selection of other filaments but loads of PLA and ABS.
Thanks

MakerGeeks. They have plenty of sales (BF sale I think is 25%), bulk pricing and and by far the best PETG I have ever used. I've only gotten their maker series, but its fantastic. I don't think you need to splurge and get the more expensive rolls unless it comes in a color you just have to have. The stuff bridges as good or better than PLA so you save a lot on not having to use as much support material. The default settings in Prusa Control are perfect for it as well. Shipping is free, but will take > 1 week.

Sometimes I'll get PLA from Amazon. AMZ3D I think is the name of the company, not a lot of color selection though. Prime shipping, was like $17 and had the best black PLA so far. Stay away from MeltInk3D. Their PLA is garbage and had a lot of snags that ruined prints on my mk2. Hatchbox is popular. I didn't like their PETG. eSUN PETG is the worst. My last print broke just trying to take it off the printer... re-printed in PLA and had no issues.

PushPlastic has some nice PLA. Most of my rolls have been great.

I get good results from Inland PLA and PETG, the in-house brand for Microcenter, which I buy at the local store. I still have a large stock of ABS that I acquired from Makerbot for my previous printer.

I solve problems, usually with computers ...

Friends of mine had great success with Pushplastic. The MK3 will be my first printer so I'm rolling with Pushplastic first.

Yeah, if you are lucky enough to be near a Micro Center, the Inland filaments are great. Cheap too, $15 per 2 kilo spool for PLA and ABS.

I like Atomic Filament. Their Impact Modified PLA is great -- strong and prints as well as regular PLA. PETG is very nice, and the carbon fiber petg is strong with a great look. A bit more expensive than other filaments, but I don't mind for a hobby.

The Microcenter website has free shipping on filament  . You can also get it from Amazon, although it tends to run a couple of bucks more.

I used to live in Tustin Ca, not far from MicroCenter. 😎 . I live in the SF Bay area now. You would think this would be 3D printing heaven but haven't found anything except for Fry's which is a drive. I have found several good sources online thanks to this post. Thanks everyone for posting your sources of filament.

Mostly Inland from MicroCenter (since I live 10 minutes from one) and then MakerGeeks as a second source, mostly for a better variety of colors then Inland.

Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?

for work related filament I buy thru Amazon and purchase Hatchbox PLA and eSun PETG... but haven't really tried printing much in PETG yet.

for personal related filament I buy mostly from FoxSmart. Their PLA is very low cost... I've paid as little as $14 a kg. Prints well and the parts have been very durable. I typically print around 215-225 and have very little/no stringing at the higher temps.

why the 2 different sources? well, foxsmart requires you to pay via paypal. You can still pay as a credit card (via PP), but my company credit card won't allow it.

Probably MakerGeeks. They are going to have a lot of black friday deals sitewide including 30% off and buy 1, get 1. They have a ninjaflex alternative. I've never used it, I use so little flex that it doesn't pay for me to pick up a full kilo of it. Ninjaflex does print very well with the built in FLEX settings in PrusaControl. I usually just pick up the $12.99 50g packs on Amazon. Its a ripoff on a per-kg basis, but as I said, I only use it occassionally so its better than paying $50 on roll that won't get used.

Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?

I placed 2 orders from MakerGeeks for filament and other stuff, wanted to have it here for when the printer comes. My experience has not been that great so far, had problems with both orders.

Order 1:
I got 5 spools of filament and other things. Get an email with in a couple days that my order is on it's way listing everything I purchased listed that it's in the box shipped and tracking number. Box came with in a few days so I opened the box and I only got 4 spools of filament. After checking the email I got it said that 5 spools were shipped. Emailed Makergeeks explained everything and got email said my package was delivered. emailed them again and got email back saying that the blue filament is on back order and they should have it 7-10 days. Waited 15 days and no email saying it was shipped. Last 6 days I email them 4 times and have not heard from anyone. My last 2 email even listed other colors I would take over the blue if they are out of stock.

Order 2:
As I was sure MakerGeeks would resolve the missing spool of filament I placed a second order foir filament and other stuff and once again something went wrong. I seen they had a nice quality scaper listed for $10 so I purchased it but when the order came in it was a low quality scaper that does not look like anything on the web site and cost about $3 at my local hardware store. email them with pictures of the scaper I recieved and they did reply to my email refunding some of the money for the scraper. Well that or fine and all but it's going right into the trash can as it's a piece of crap scraper.

So if you buy from them make sure you check your order when it comes in. I myself will look for other places to purchase my 3D printing suppplies.

I am a hatchbox fan. I was able to get signed up for their wholesale program, so I get a steep discount. This, coupled with never having a problem with the filament has made me an exclusive customer for the foreseeable future.

Re: Where do you buy your filament in the USA?

For me I normally buy through amazon but the brand I been buying lately is called 3d Solutech. Its apparently a US company though there support in my experience has been lacking but the material itself has been printing great but the spool winding has been hit and miss. Only reason I been putting up with it is this has been the best material I tried so far that has been printing to my bed with out any special prepping its just been fire and forget but it comes out as well as my Hatchbox stuff I have used in the past as well as some of the other more expensive materials but at $17 a spool I will live with it.

Originally I used Hatchbox, and I think the quality is great, but I have found that the PLA tends to be extremely brittle, even more than most PLAs that I have worked with. Also, they are usually out of stock on Amazon.
Now I get eSun for my PLA.

Not going to lie, it hasn't been perfect for me either. They missed a roll both times I ordered 4 rolls. I contacted them during business hours via e-mail and I got all my rolls. It pissed me off, but the filament is fantastic. They have gone through a lot of upgrades to specifically target supply issues. The scraper is crap though. Were you able to return it?

They did not offer me a return they emailed me the same day that they refunded me $7.96 from the $9.95 cost. So I only lost $2 on the scraper.
It's pissing me off that they have not replied to me in a weeks time with 4 email sent.
