Warped front plate
I started assembling my MK3 this weekend and didn't make it past frame assembly. After tightening and loosening screws for over an hour, I discovered that my front plate is slightly warped. I can slide about 8 pieces of printer paper under one edge of it when I press the other edge flat. I also noticed that if I stand it up and press one side of it level with my surface, the other side raises up (not sure if this is normal or not).
I chatted with support and they recommended I "tighten while pressing the plates to let them be slightly turning outwards". He also said to send them an email with more details, which I did. I'm not entirely sure what he is describing and I am concerned that I'll bend another part of the frame trying what he describes. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
To prove that the bent plate was the cause, I took the frame apart and assembled it with the short extrusions on the inner set of holes so I could attach the front plate to those and the rear plate to the long extensions. When I did that, the corner of the frame that lifted was on one of the short extrusions (it was on a long extrusion when assembling the printer normally). I also tried flipping the plate around to see if that improved things, but it did not.

shows the rocking motion when I stand it up.
Thanks
Re: Warped front plate
I had the exact same issue, support was awesome offering to send a new front plate, but as I was very anxious I kept assembling and the firmware calibrated itself for the uneven surface.
Good luck.
Re: Warped front plate
bend it straight if you can't wait...
Re: Warped front plate
Is the rocking when the plate is standing up normal? With the rubber feet installed the plate shouldn't touch the table, and if both sides have the same slant on the bottom edge it may not be a problem. However, that rocking motion is what I see with the plate installed so my thought was that it wasn't normal.

get a replacement why fit a part that's not right
