Setup wizard fail on hotend

Hello, just finished my MK3 kit, started the setup wizard but says hotend failed. I triple checked my wiring and everything looks fine. Any ideas? Thanks for everyone’s time!

Re: Setup wizard fail on hotend

I have this same problem, too. Support has not gotten back to me and it's been 48 hours.

If you have a multimeter you can check continuity from the hotend connector to the hotend itself. You can also check the voltage on that connector during that portion of the self test. My continuity was good but my voltage was low.

Another thing you can check is the hotend itself if you have a bench supply (or 12 volt supply). My hotend heated up when I did this (be careful, though, obviously).

Good luck! If I hear back from Prusa I'll post. I'm a little miffed they still haven't responded.

Not sure this is what fixed my issue but I removed the wires from the hotend plug, put them back in and snugged them up, all is well now and I’m on a second test print! Did the Prusa logo now I’m doing the tree frog, looking fantastic!

Support did respond and had me upgrade the firmware. This fixed my problem.

Re: Setup wizard fail on hotend

In case anyone else is having this problem, I should have specified that it worked with firmware version 3.1.1 b138 RC3.

I updated to version 3.1.1 b143 RC4 and my hotend did not pass self test again.
