Redesigned heatbed cable cover

The install manual says these will be shipped commencing mid January.

My MK3 shipped 11 Jan and is on the way. I'm just trying to see though if I will get the old or new heatbed cable cover.

Can anyone who has received their MK3 kit in the last few days advise what heatbed cable cover cover was included in their kit please?

Re: Redesigned heatbed cable cover

My MK3 arrived yesterday and had this and all other new parts indicated in the documentation. I would think you are more than covered.

Mine was an Oct 4th order that initially claimed to be packing (with tracking) around December 19th, but didn't actually ship until middle of this past week in reality (holiday). In retrospect, I'm glad. My firmware on the board was even the current Dec 30 release, so things clearly were fresh in production and nothing (or not everything) was actually packed for mine before, I assume, this week.

For anyone curious, this is the part you're talking about (Step 2):

Re: Redesigned heatbed cable cover

Thanks Aaron.

I should be ok then.

I actually reprinted a right angle cover for my MK2 so it would fit inside my IKEA cabinet with the printer orientation right...but had the cables for heatbed and extruder rubbing against each other as a result..

I want to keep the MK2 stock though so will probably need to sit it in the cabinet sideways with the LCD unattached and just sitting somewhere where it can be seen / accessed.

This mod to the retainer / cover should assist reduce instances of the heatbed wiring coming off the board, (as per reported problems with the MK2) due to better strain relief etc.

This is about the easiest part to replace. So even if you don't get it, you can re-install later with almost zero tear down.

Yes easy to print, just printed one set in PETG - will swap with the old heat bed cover, when the hardened rods arrive and I have to swap them.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
