Problems with Simplify3D
Hello People....
I've been having problems with S3D with the MK3, im on 3.1.1 RC3 B138.
The printer heats up, does the calibration, the purge and the skirt... but when it starts to print the extruder motor seems to stall.... it wont extrude any filament... or just barely..... then when it gets to the second layer of the skirt it prints fine again and when it gets back to the part it stops extruding again....
Any1 having issues with S3D?
Re: Problems with Simplify3D
I use S3D with no errors, but I'm still tweaking to get results similar to Slic3r PE. I would verify your first layer settings. I suspect that you mean to reduce your print speed by 50%, as would be normal, but may have accidentally set your extrusion width to 50% instead. But, as a generalization, S3D is functional with no inherent issues.

No, the settings are fine.... i double checked.
I've been using S3D for years now, i'm quite confortable with it but i have no idea what's causing this and since i saw people having trouble with the newest firmware i decided not to update the printer.
What FW version are you using?
Before i updated to RC3 B138 i managed to get S3D to work.
Could you please share your .FFF file so i could give it a try?
Re: Problems with Simplify3D
I the process of testing, I found that I was having a similar issue with RC4 b143. Not a failure to extrude, but not getting enough on the first layer to adhere to the bed using the Prusa PLA that came with the printer. I couldn't get anything to stick, even with Glue Stick. So, I changed the firmware back to RC3 b138 (without changing any other settings) and printed the same gcode with no issues.
Attached is my FFF. However, this is all copied over from my MK2S config, which is different. The only profile that is working perfectly is the Inland PLA and Prusa PLA. The other profiles will not have correct extrusion settings.

Ok, thanks. I will check them out!
Re: Problems with Simplify3D
I am printing successfully with the latest (rc4/143) firmware and the Prusa supplied S3D settings. I had my own working, but I've verified that the fff file Josef supplied in the last couple of days works for me with PETG (fast, optimal, and fine settings). I printed an XYZ calibration cube in each without touching the fff file at all. I'll post pictures over there once the fine print is done.
No extrusion issues. The front initial extrusion line works fine (pretty thick), then it prints a brim and starts the print.

Dont really know whats going on.... im gonna re-install S3D just in case something is off (despite every gcode generated for my other printer working flawlessly).
