print quality issue

hi everybody

i got the mk3 and im using the prusa settings on simplifed 3d

now my issue is the most of the print comes out fine until it starts to print the wings which are about 1mm thick.

As you can see it is really rough compared to other parts of the print..

any ideas on how to fix this would be much appricated

Hi Parry, difficult to see... are the engines good at the same level as the wings are bad?

if so, it could be a cooling issue... are you using 100% fan?

Re: print quality issue

I'm assuming the print is nose down, so the trailing edge of the wings are at the top of the print as it's printing.

This looks to me like the model may be vibrating a bit on the print bed. This can happen with tall, thin structures.

A couple remedies you can try:

  • Print the model horizontally instead of vertically.

  • Slow the print speed way down, especially as you get closer to the top of the print.

  • Print the wings as a separate part and assemble it later.
