Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Come on guys what am i missing? I've tried downgrading the firmwere but still have the same issue, factory reset same issue.... aaaarrrrgggggg
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Good day. If you already calibrated xyz, just in the calibration section "First layer cal." If you do not have a calibrated 3d printer, calibration sections "Wizard" and carefully read command on display.

Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Thanks for that but I've obviously not made my self clear. This happens when I am running the wizard. It passes the self test then fails as shown on the xyz
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
I've had to babysit my mk3 because the firmware seems hit-or-miss...expecting yet another release. (Glad I have my mk2s 🙂 )
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Hi,
you are not alone, I have a similar issue. 1 difference; Auto home on its own just like in your case put's it right where it should be.
Then XYZ calibration for me moves the nozzle forward and left but not all the way up, it simply stays at the same height whilst displaying auto home and then quits with error before even attempting XYZ calibration itself.
I checked if there was a difference with the Z calibration and it shows the same behaviour. Auto Home cannot find it's mark. What language is that anyway? (see picture). This is shown on the display after the calibration fail message is clicked (away).
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Yep I get that on display too with maybe a slight flicker on the top line. Thank god its not just me i thought i was going mad.

did you tried a factory reset ? i had this gibberish when i first calibrated my printer. after a factory reset it was gone.
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Just did the factory reset like you suggested (the handbook is slightly off in the instruction how to enable the factory reset mode but nevertheless found it).
Manual v3.01 says on page 29 chapter 7.2.6:
Entering the factory reset menu:
1. Press and release the reset button (marked X and positioned under the control
knob on the LCD panel)
2. Press and hold the control knob until you hear a beep
3. Release the control knob
My printer enters the factory reset menu when:
1. Press both the reset button and the control know simultaneously, then release the reset button whilst keeping the control knob pushed until you hear a beep.
2. Release the control knob
anyway, after factory reset:
OK on Selftest
but on XYZ calibration same issue as before, it will not auto home and returns the error Calibration failed! Check the axes and run again!.
Auto Home selected from the menu seems to work just fine (as before).
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
Experimented further by changing the height of the PINDA. I fixed it at a slightly higher position (further away from the bed) and now the calibration did start (and finish). Last message in my case: XYZ Calibrations ok. X/Y axes are perpendicular. Congratulations!
Perhaps you can try the same Matthew?
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
well been on prusa chat and spoke to a nice guy called Duncan. This is apparently a new issue they have not come across before, he asked me to check for wobble in the frame so i sent him a video showing that the frame is wobble free.
So he has passed it on to Build Services who are going to contact me.
Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
how high did you go? dont want nozzle crashing into bed

Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
I adjusted it maybe half a mm to 1 mm not more. I also did a factory reset. Z calibration is not working still, don't really want to try the XYZ calibration again as I might have been just lucky to pass it once 😉

Re: Please help can't calibrate won't auto home
I just posted about a very similar issue https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3-f30/calibration-failed-check-axis-and-run-again-t12484.html . I upgraded firmware as well.
I followed the ziptie PINDA setup as well. :/
