Overhang problems?

Hello,

I recently bought a Prusa 3D printer. I would like to print some 3D pieces with small details. But I didn't manage to print it correctly. I have collapse problems, that might be caused by overhang. But I am not sure. I have tried to change the orientation, to use supports. Nothing worked.

I made some screenshots of my 3D file.

Can anybody help me on this case ? Is there a way to print this correctly ?

Thanks.

Re: Overhang problems?

What are the printed parts looking like? I'm failing to visualize whay toy are saying?

Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.
Please feel free to donate to my filament/maintance fund.

Re: Overhang problems?

Would be indeed easier if you'd post the failed parts.
Anyway, the models would need a lot of supports as the bottom (if I am imagening the orientation correctly) would be printed in the air otherwise

Re: Overhang problems?

You could split your model in half and get a nice smooth surface to the bed. You could then glue the 2 pieces together. This won't work for all plastics though, and would probably make your print weaker.

Thank you for your answers.

As soon as possible, I will try to print it again and take some pictures to show you more precisely my problem.

I also will try to print it in 2 parts and see if repositionnig is precise enough. The problem with this technique is that I would like to insert a metal tube in the cylinder...
