new textured plate not sticking
has any one got any idea, not having any luck with a new textured plate.
have been using smooth plates for a year now with good results, have been using a lot of petg for the covid masks all going good.
some times a bit difficult to get of the bed, so i have got a new textured plate, cleaned it with IPA and tried to do a first layer calibration.
my settings are 240 and 85 this has been used for the same filament and the same for the smooth plate.
what i keep getting is it just seems to lay on the top of the plate, then it rolls into a ball.
i used the same numbers from the smooth plate for a starting point, then went up and down with the z height.
have i missed some thing in cleaning the plate, have used pla but that did stick.
just a bit frustrated and dont know what to do now
Thanks
Graham

Clean the textured sheet with dishsoap and water. Don't touch the printsurface after cleaning. Very important is also a good leveld bed and a well adjusted first z-layer. If the filament still does not stick, you can reduce the first z-layer (move 0.05mm steps closer to the bed).

When going from a Prusa smooth to textured PEI, your Live-Z should be lowered (made more negative) considerably. The textured sheets are much thinner. Be sure to set a separate sheet entry for the textured sheet so both are retained.

@bobstro
Thanks for that yes i have made different profiles as i have 3 plates. what i did not know was the new plate is thinner
thought it was me being stupid!
RE: new textured plate not sticking
Just a quick update, you are right about the plate being different sizes the smooth plate is 0.7 mm and the text plate is 1.10 mm
quite a big difference.
what i find strange is i have never seen any documentation about the sizes, would have been nice to know before i set it up
yet to try with petg

Due to the different thicknesses of the printing plates, Prusa has expanded the FW -with "steel sheet profiles" - see here:

@karl-herbert
Hi thanks for that, its all good now done some prints with Petg on the new plate.
i gave it a good was in hot water,set the height and away i went.
i just wish i had this a few weeks ago as i was doing a lot of masks in petg, and the stuck too well to the smooth plate
in the end i was using a glue stick to be a barrier and not stick so hard.
