More options when a crash is detected ?
Yesterday when i was printing a Darth Vader pen cup, the extruder crash due to strangled filaments in the spool (Yes, I was too lazy to do the rewinding of filament before hand, my fault).
MK3's crash detection worked, it tried to resume the printing after a crash, but as you can imagine, the extruder couldn't move to the correct position as it was restrained by the strangled filament. So the result was a mess of spaghetti beside the half printed Darth Vader. 🙁 When I checked the fail statistic, it recorded more than 30 times crashes. 😯
So I think if there was a alarm and pause function when a crash was detected, I could stop the print earlier to save filament or even to save the print.
Crash detection is a cool function, it saved my previous prints more than once. But I think it can be better.
Perhaps a firmware update letting user choose between automatic resume and alarm-pause is a possible solution.
Re: More options when a crash is detected ?
Agree on that. If it crash and fails to start again three times it should pause. Where is the point of crashing all night 🙄
