MK3 first layer adhesion issues

Got my MK3 kit and finally assembled. Doing some basic calibration with the benchy boat looks great. However I'm finding that my settings for my MK2S on heat bed and hot end aren't working well for 1st-layer adhesion with some smaller-surface area portions of a part. I've set the Live Z calibration, about -.850 was set on my printer but it looks squashed without completely flat. I've played with the Z calibration a few times (-0.700, -0.750, -0.800, -0.850) and so far I've left it at the max setting which still looks good.

Anyone have comments with those who are using the MK3 and settings with generic PLA? Here's my info:

MK2S settings (no issues):

  • PLA (silver) from Prusa included in the kit.

  • 215 hot end, 55 head bed entire print job

  • Slicing with Cura, 1st layer part cooling off

  • Print speed set to 60 mms/travel speed to 120 mm/s (default MK2S settings)

  • Skirt build plate adhesion (i.e. just to get the head equalized)
  • MK3 settings:

  • PLA (silver) from Prusa included in the kit.

  • Slicing with Slic3r default settings except hot end and heat bed

  • Skirt build plate adhesion (i.e. just to get the head equalized)

  • MK3 settings adhesion with 215/55 has parts failing to adhere

  • Bumped up heat bed to 65 which seems to adhere better

  • Turned off part cooling until after 2nd layer - seemingly better
  • I'm wondering if the steel plate is not getting thermally saturated to keep the parts on? Anyone have a good Cura profile?

    -Thanks
