As title, Mk3 and Mk2S/2.5 - how many amps does each one use from UK 240v mains?

TIA 🙂

Re: Mk3 and Mk2S/2.5 on 240v - How Many Amps?

Main power loads would be the hotend and the heated bed. According to prusa support, the hotend is 40W and the heated bed is 150W. They are 24V heaters.

P=U*I
P/U=I
(40W+150W) / 24V = 7.9A

So when heating the printer heater elements will draw about 8 amps. Add some overhead for motors, electronics, and PSU efficiency factor.

For MK2 you'd divide by 12 volts instead, and I don't know if the heated bed has the same effect as the one on the MK3.
