Loud cooling fan

Last night I did my first prints with PETG using the default slic3r profiles. The default slic3r profile runs the part cooling fan at 30%. At this speed my fan makes an annoying whining noise that I don't hear when it runs at 100%. Before I send this link to Prusa support so that they can tell me it is normal and not a problem, do you mind watching the video and letting me know how this compares to your MK3 part cooling fans at the same speed?

Thanks.

Re: Loud cooling fan

I have the exact same problem I sent an email to Prusa support and they gave me back this response:

Haven't seen this yet with the MK3's fan so I suspect it's a faulty fan. However can you please try unplugging it from the main board and replugging it again? Please also try reflashing the printer's firmware:

Firmware updating and flashing

Let me know if anything of the above helped; if not will provide a replacement fan.

Might want to try that out and if it doesn't work just send them an email with the video and they'll probably send a replacement.

several threads on this, but yes its somewhat common with the pwm fan. should be much quieter and they'll replace it easily.
