Is Eisny hosed?

What is a proper method to put the logic board through its paces to be sure nothing is wrong with it? I have tried power cycles and a full factory reset.

After flashing to the latest firmware, everything seems okay on the surface, but I am not certain. For example, the automatic filament loading does not work, even after a successful sensor test. With auto filament loading turned off, the load filament feature in the menu is not present, so I cannot load filament (intermittently). And when I a firmware update yesterday, the resulting print I tried SEROUISLY under extruded.

Banging head here...

I doubt your Einsy has a problem. Firmware issues IMHO. I too updated to the latest RC3. I also had the filament failure, as in I unloaded to change colour then the new filament would not load - and the manual option is no longer on the menu. I had to disable the autoload to get the option back so now waiting for the next release.

Have the same problems on mine (including filament loading). Also jogging x/y sometimes doesn't work, but Z always does - when this happens, I get a bunch of jibberish on the screen. Factory reset also no longer works for me, I select the option but it doesn't actually do anything (at least not visible).

Another annoying issue - it forces you to do a first layer calibration which requires PLA - I don't print using PLA and it nags me, so I end up having to use the included PLA roll and swap filament whenever I update firmware/etc.

In summary: doesn't sound like you have a unique problem, b138 just seems quite buggy.

Yeah, I have figured out that the board is fine and that I am having firmware issues.

Running the b138 version now. Here is what has been happening to me...

- Filament loading has never worked, despite the sensor passing the tests.
- Filament loading option likes to enable itself after being disabled
- Load and Unload filament options love to disappear fromt he menu??
- Unload often does not work, temp is right, lets me select unload, unloading appears, but the extruder motor does nothing

Due to all the filament options not working I have kept filament run out dectection turned off.

Other issues mentioned have worked out, mostly.
