how to update the firmware with an SD card?
Hi there,
in the manual of the Mk3 it is stated, that firmware updates are done with an USB cable.
is it possible to update the firmware from an SD card?
if yes, how?

I doubt it's possible. Most Arduino based boards support reading from sdcard via a library that's uploaded as part of the firmware.
Edit: Learn something every day, apparently it's possible with a special bootloader and some effort; now, if Prusa decided to go that route or not is another question. I am betting generic Arduino bootloader. 🙂

Re: how to update the firmware with an SD card?
Hi there,
thanks.
as prusa recommends an SD card for printing, rather than an USB connection, it would be nice to have an option to update the firmware via SDCard.
(my printer is multiple floors away from my PC).

Re: how to update the firmware with an SD card?
Prusa recommend SD card for printing because it can take long time.
For an update, information is sending by USB and it is recommanded that not shut off PC during update.
And by USB data is sending directky to memory (RAM or ROM). And dialog is possible with PC.

Hi,
thanks for the information.
But i didn't ask for reasons not to use the SD Card.
I asked for a way to update my firmware with an SD Card.
@Prusa Research:
If there is no method of updating my firmware by SD Card at the Time, it would be nice if you could add this feature in future Versions of the firmware updater.
