Heated Bed LED light??

Does the heated bed have a LED light that will come up when the bed is heating up??

I was under the impression it did but i never saw it light up.

Yes it does. It is on the connector at the left rear of the bed, on the front. You should see it light up if you are watching the back left corner of the bed from the front if there is any heat.

If your bed is getting hot but there is no light there, sounds like a bad LED. If no heat and no LED, you have a connection/Einsy/power problem.

It heats up fine... just no led...

Make sure you have the Red and Black heat bed wires on the right control board connections.

What he said. The heat bed is a resistor (will heat fine with current flowing in either direction). The LED is a diode, allows current with low resistance in one direction (and gives off light as a side effect), blocks current in the other direction. If the polarity of the wires is backward, the LED will block current through it. It won't hurt it (up to the breakdown voltage, which should be higher than 24v), but you'll get no light.

Let us know if that was it...

I also had this problem, did some measuring on the heat bed and found out that the diod is mounded in the wrong direction, so even if you connect the leads right you won’t get any LED working.
So I switched the cables at the Einsy board and now it works. But the support made it clear that I should not do that.
But from what I know the + / - markings is just for the LED to work no other electronics on the heat bed matters.
Might be the same error on your heat bed.

The wires are connected correctly!

I've checked..... unless the wires are flipped from factory... can anyone confirm on their heatbed where the positive wire connects on the bed? Left or right side?

Support told me to wait for their team to get back to me on that... they said not to risk it... xD

Re: Heated Bed LED light??

Told me the same, I connected it to an external power supply and tested first.
If you get a response let me know might need to replace the heat bed.

Huh, I didn't even notice that there was an LED on the frontside of the heatbed. Mine is not lighting up and the wiring is definitely correct.

Haven't actually checked the the diode with the multimeter yet.

Hellyea... support sent me an email to say i can in fact switch the heated bed positive with the negative one to see if the issue persisted.

I did the switch and its working =).

RE: Heated Bed LED light??

So it's Ok if the LED flickers during a job? I am seeing some issues with uneven heating and partial loss of adhesion so I am trying to work out where the problem is, if it's a thermistor issue or the heatbed itself. If the flickering is actually useful, I'll keep looking.

RE: Heated Bed LED light??

the Heatbed temperature control, is achieved by modulating the heatbed, heater, so flickering is normal, as the heatbed approaches working temperature
