Heatbed temp appears inaccurate

I had a item printing and it came loose and a big mess followed. I went to print something simple to check the printer and the heatbed stalled at 43 of 60 degrees. I went to my grill and got my trusty instant read thermometer and it said the bed was over 60 degrees. My instinct says the bed is heating but the temperature is not reading correctly.

Has anyone else seen this and if so, any input would be welcome.

Re: Heatbed temp appears inaccurate

This is usually a result of the thermistor reading as a high resistance. The thermistor is a reverse temperature coefficient device, meaning the hotter it gets the less resistance it has. So if you have a fractured wire or bad connection on the wires/board you will see this type of failure.

I know this sounds crazy but I took the bed off and found the thermistor had somehow worked its way all the way to there the heatbed connection. I am sure it was in place when I put it together because I remember the step where to move the wire away from the cover screw head. I had the wire wraps in place and can not figure out how it walked so far away.

Will MK3 owners look at their thermistor and let me know if you see any movement?

Thanks
