Filament Sensor not staying on in Menu

Yesterday I had something odd happen.

I have the filament sensor on (and had tested the filament run out feature in the past and it worked). Yesterday an 8 hour print ran out of filament around the 95% done range. The filament run out routine did not trigger and the printer continued to "air print" until the end of the print instructions (printed from SD). I checked the menu and found that the filament sensor was off. I do not know why as I have had it on for days.... So, I turn on the filament sensor and auto load function. I then heat up the hot end and try to auto load filament. It fails. Enter the menu again and find that the sensor is off again even after having just turned it on. It did the same thing one more time when I gave up, loaded the filament the old fashioned way, and started another print.

Anyone else have something like this happen???

On build 150 of the firmware...

Re: Filament Sensor not staying on in Menu

I have noticed that if I go into the "Extruder Info" in the "Support" tab, it will turn the filament sensor off. Other than that mine stays on. But every time I go into the "Extruder Info" section I have to go back and turn it back on.

I have similar problems with the filament sensor. It sometimes turns off and stay off (random?) and I have to turn it on again. One time I had to power cycle to turn it on again. I only notice if I have to change filament between prints.

Firmware RC4 (as this is the latest with Linear Advance) and only printing from SD.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
