Electric Hiss from Steppers

Hi All,
I just finished assembling my MK3 a few days ago.
I have noticed that the moment the steppers engage an electronic hiss sound is associated with them.
As a test, I went into the menu and manually moved each axis. Sure enough, whenever I move an axis I can hear a hiss from that stepper.
When I move the y-axis in particular the hiss is constant but changes tones slightly with each move.
In stealth mode the hiss is gone (although it might be happening on z-hops because I hear a similar noise for the fraction of the second the z hop occurs.)

Has anyone else noticed this?
If not, it would be awesome if someone tested it for me.
Just manually move any axis from the menu, the moment the motor engages please let me know if you hear any tone change from the steppers.

Thanks a lot fam!

Re: Electric Hiss from Steppers

This is very normal. The drive current is controlled by switching the circuit on and off very fast but by varying the ratio of on/off (pwm) and depending on the frequency, power level, the mechanical properties of the coils, etc. some sound will be created. If you change the drive mode of the motor you may hear a different sound or no sound, again depending on all those variables.
