Einsy Rambo Upgrade from MK2S
So I already have the MK2.5 upgrade on order. But more and more the advantages of the Trinamic Drivers are appealing to me.
I don't think the new frame would make that much of a difference. And the Einsy Rambo specs indicate it runs on 12v or 24v. So it seems I could keep my old steppers, not have to worry about the 24v heatbed.
Is there any reason I would not be able to simply swap the MOBO into my MK2S?
I guess I would end up with a MK2.75S alternative...

I checked with Prusa Support on chat and the Einsy Rambo MK3 firmware is only set up for 24V operation. 🙁
It would be really cool if someone at Prusa developed a 12 variant on the MK3 Firmware but I imagine there is not much point.

The Trinamic drivers don't like running at 12V. Can't remember the minimum but I think it might have been 18V. Google it.

I am about to start this exact conversion. My Mk2S has already been rebuilt with the Haribo mod so the frame is all 3030 extrusion and is squarer and more rigid then even the new Mk3 frame, but I still wanted the Einsy board for the Trinamic drivers and the quietness they bring.
So I now have the Mk2.5 conversion kit delivered a few days ago and while waiting I purchased an Einsy RAMBo and a 24v PSU from Prusa. I did want to do a full Mk3 conversion but late on realised that not only is the heatbed different on the Mk3 (24v) but the mounting points and the aluminium Y Carriage frame are different as well.
The RAMbo line of boards including the Einsy are stated to have separate power rails for the electronics and the heatbed so I am going to build a dual power hybrid Mk2.75 thing. I am going to utilise both 12v and 24v PSU's and give Einsy 24v to the board electronics power rail, and 12v to the bed power rail. I can then use the Mk2.5 12v heatbed on my existing Mk2S Y Carriage, and have the rest of the printer including hotend on 24v.
One possible side effect of this is my dual power setup should considerably ease the loading on both PSU's.

I am definitely interested. Almost considering canceling my M2.5 upgrade and buying the 24V version of the heat bed as the first step towards getting around the voltage issue.
I have even considered going with a Duet Wifi mobo as an alternative option for Trinamic drivers. Also a step towards a diamond hot end machine. But I think that may be a completely different project .
Aside from the noise and occasional operator errors, my MK2s is a pretty solid performer. So I am hesitant to mod it too far from stock.

Hello. I have home made MK3, parts I bought from aliexpress, Rambo-Einsy v1.1a doard from Ultimaschine. Prusa i3 MK3 firmware v3.2.0 from minor changes, and the machine works on 12V, Bed is MK42 ready to rework on magnetic. I am waiting for magnets and steel sheet. I'm sorry for my english.

Be careful with this one, I made this mistake. To fit the 24v heatbed you will need a new aluminium Y carriage as the Mk3 is different to the Mk2 and the two are not interchangeable.

So this is my Homemade MK3 12V, HeatBed MK42 12V, PSU 12v 41A, Einsy-Rambo v1.1a board, Octo Prusa Print, not power panic, not not filament sensor, not bondtech gear, But it works.

I'm currently building my own MK3 clone too, based on a MK2 Frame, MK52 12V Heatbed and the original Einsy rambo board. Could you please tell me what exactly you changed in the MK3 firmware code to make it run at 12V? That would be awesome! 😎

Be careful with this one, I made this mistake. To fit the 24v heatbed you will need a new aluminium Y carriage as the Mk3 is different to the Mk2 and the two are not interchangeable.
I laser cut a "dual use" frame that fits both MK42 and MK52. Right now I'm poking around the MK2.5 firmware to see what it would take to get it to use the MK42 heatbed. Right now I'm trying to bring up a machine that started life as a MK2S MMU and then got a Bear "full upgrade" frame, a PT100 sensor, a MK3 extruder, and a MK42 bed.

I am interested too, how to use the Einsy 12V board, original mk2 heatbed and the original prusa firmware.
I upgraded mu mk2 -> mk2.5 and the full bear upgrade.
Now i wanna build a second printer with my left parts from the upgrade (prusa frame, heatbed)
