Does Octoprint/raspi with MK3 affect quality?
I'm looking forward to receiving my MK3 soon and I'd like to add a raspi to run octoprint. However in the past when I have set up a raspi W zero as an octoprint server it seemed to be too slow to keep up with the printer and it affected the quality of the output. I think this was further exasperated by trying to use the camera module with it to monitor prints.
My questions are: any of you using octoprint with a raspi on the MK3 and have you checked to see if it affects quality? Do you use it with a camera module? If a raspi w zero is not fast enough can we connect a beefier raspi to the MK3?
thanks!
Re: Does Octoprint/raspi with MK3 affect quality?
I've not tried my pi zero with the MK3 but my pi zero did struggle to keep up with my K8400 printer (also Marlin based like the MK3) and resulted in zits on the prints near curves and with the webcam running. I'll probably go straight for a Pi3 rather than a zero when I do get round to using Octoprint again. The Zero really struggles in my opinion. especially if you want the webcam to work too. With the Pi3 I would use USB and its own 5V power supply, and not the header on the Einsy board.
