Consistent Layer Shift

Hello All,

Caveat. This is my first printer and I am kinda inexperienced, hence I turn to you for you valuable help.

I have a problem with layer shifts. The facts:

I have an MK3
It always happen on the Y axis (The heatbed axis I believe its the Y) in the same direction (Shifted layers are towards the back)
It happened both for Prusa PLA and PETG
It happened on both presliced models (loaded on SD) and models I sliced my self
I was using Slic3r and the default settings for PET and Prusa PLA
It happened both for 50um and 200um sliced models
It always happens on the first layers of the print and have not other layer shift after that.
Belt tension for Y is within specifications (around 270)
I am working on Normal mode (not stealth)

Any ideas would be very welcome.
Very Happy to join this community 🙂

Re: Consistent Layer Shift

check if one of the grub-screws of the y-motor pulley is really tight against the flat of the motor shaft, if there's a bit of play it might lead to what you're describing.

Re: Consistent Layer Shift

Thank you ibn,

I rechecked the Y axis from scratch, seeing that this was the direction of problem.
It might very well be that you were right since now I am not experiencing this problem!

Thanks again for your reply.
