Upgrading to Aluminum Build Plate

I am thinking of upgrading my print bed to aluminum and adding and inductive proximity sensor like my Printrbot uses. Can you recomend one that fits the Y carriage mounting holes?

Any standard heated bed 215x215 should have the correct hole spacing. Here's one: http://www.banggood.com/Standard-3D-Printer-3MM-MK3-Aluminum-Board-PCB-Heat-Bed-For-Reprap-p-989030.html

There are a couple of issue with aluminium beds: to get one that is flat, it needs to be thick. If it's thick, there is a lot of weight to move. Any of course, you will need something on top to print on (blue tape, kapton, glass etc).

Just realised something else - the sensor you link to runs from 6 to 36 volts and I think the RAMBo is only capable of using a 5 Volt (or slightly less) sensor.

Peter,

With the correct resistors soldered in place it is fine. Same one I have used on the MK1 for the last 6 months.

Josef had previously mentioned that there were very few induction probes available for 5V use and he had to have one developed for the Mk2, hence my comment.
