This will be my new enclosure

I recently finished my prototype of the folding enclosure for my 3d printer ( you can see it here), but I decided to use more solid material for the walls. I found out that with acrylic or aluminium composite walls and together with cutting and milling it will costs almost as the printer itself. 😮 Therefore I grab the - 4mm cellular polycarbonate panels. Cheeper, easy to cut and drill.
Frame is made from 10mm AL tubes. 3D printed parts are corners, corner covers and edges. Front doors will be acrylic glass. The construction is very lightweight and I expect to have air tight enclosure at the end. 😀

Hi Jimoo,

Thats awesome I downloaded your other stl parts but these connectors are different, I purchased the sheets yesterday on offer in B&Q (UK version of Home Depot) any chance I can get these connectors stl files please

I especially like the way you have watermarked the inside of the connectors on the other files great way of protecting whats yours, too many people steal others work and profit from it.

Thanks Kerry

Hi Kerry,
thank you!
The connectors and also other parts are still in a development 😉 . However you can try this version. 🙂 It prints good in PLA but not in ABS. You will need 6pcs DIN 912 M3 bolts and square nuts to fix the tubes to the connector and to fix the corner cover. You will also need edges, but they are not included. They need redesign, because 4mm Lexan is actually 4.3 mm thick. I will finish the project soon and it will be all available on my webpage: http://yirco.me . Site is now in development. Print the connector with supports under the outer edges. No other supports are necessary. Let me know how successful you were, feedback is highly appreciated.

best regards Jimoo
