It's interesting how much effort and money you're putting in rebuilding the printer. Have you noticed any quality improvements?

Don't some filaments claim this?

I use the Proto-Paste PLA. One of the screws which hold the LCD is connected to GND on the PCB, so no cable are necessary.

Just out of curiosity, have you tested the resistance?

Awesome work Knickohr. Thanks for sharing. I am living in Germany and couldn't find a suitable supplier for V-Slots. Great that you already ported it ti I-type extrusions.

Did you also have a look on the Bear mod V2.0 ??

*Runs away and start ordering extrusions* 🙂

Jepp, it's only a few kiloohms

My mod is a mix of V1.0 and V2.0. Some parts are from version 1 and some from version 2. I also modded some parts again for fitting the I-type and for the metallic corners.

It's nearly a new mod of the mod 😉

Depends on where you are. There seem to be links in the posts above to EU resources. In the US I have found MiSUMi has great prices on custom cut pieces with flat rate shipping:

This is wrong !

These are 30x30 B-type. My modified parts are for 20x40 I-type nut 5 :

Or use the original BEAR mod with the v-slot type.

This is not wrong. It depends on what mod you intend to use. These are the original MK3 specked extrusions.

If you want the 20x40 they have this as well:

https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/110302684350/?CategorySpec=unitType%3a%3a1%0900000042747%3a%3amig00000001422824%2cmig00000001422827&Inch=0

As well as just about any extrusion you can think of:

https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/mech/M1500000000/M1501000000/M1501010000/

As the previous posts and links referred to EU sources I was simply pointing to a supplier here in the States that could provide custom cut extrusions for whatever version of mod you want. That is what the question that I was responding to asked. It was not specific. And I answered it correctly!

Jerry.

Your provided B-type nut 6 will not work for my mod in this thread !

See the difference :

https://www.dold-mechatronik.de/documents/Datenblaetter/Aluminiumprofile/Datenblatt-20-I-Typ-Nut-5.pdf?utm_source=webshop&utm_medium=pdf&utm_content=Alu-20-I-Typ-Nut-5&utm_campaign=datenblatt-download

And it will also not work for the original BEAR-mod (v-slot).

Ack my pardon.

You still do not get it.

I was(am) trying to provide a link to a USA resource for custom cut frame extrusions for people looking to modify their printer. My first post used the actual MK3 extrusion that Prusa uses that would allow you to use Prusa parts as an example. I thought that would be enough for those who may want to do a mod to figure out which one they wanted to do (MK3, Bear. half-Bear, etc...). Anyone who is attempting any mod such as these should be able to figure out the parts otherwise they should not be doing such a mod in the first place.

The MiSUMi site I keep referencing has many extrusions which is why I provided the more general link in my second post.

Case in point, the original Bear mod extrusion that you refer to as being unavailable in Germany is available in the USA there:

https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/110302685750/?CategorySpec=unitType%3a%3a1%0900000042730%3a%3amig00000001422826%0900000042733%3a%3ab&Inch=0

These are examples related to the original MK3, the Original Bear mod, half-Bear, and your mod. I am simply trying to help those in the USA. Anyway, those that are looking to do such a mod now know they have a few choices and this should help them determine which path to take.

In retrospect, it would be very helpful if you, and other posters, would update your profile(s) to include your location, even if it is just the country. There are many references to many resources that can be location specific and it would help in understanding such information in posts. Just a thought.

BTW - I am not sure what you mean by "Ack my pardon"?
