Anti vibration feet (by Prusa) Semiflex noob question

Hi all,

I decided to give the anti vibration feet on this page a try:

http://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/#_ga=1.268100491.448349159.1482920328

I made them hollow as advised but in my inexperience I seem to have made an error in judgement.
The print was done in Semiflex, just 4 outer layers. But that material was not nearly strong enough to support the printer that way and gets totally squished 🙂 (they looked nice though, some stringing but ok)

Shoud I print them solid when using a flexible (semi flexible) material?
The hollow version being more suited for PLA / ABS?

Thanks for any insights

💡 i would recommend this one. printed it here with bdp and got no more problems with my neighbour now 😀 .

😐 i tried out the one from the prusa site, but it wasn't as effective as the 1707045 at thingiverse.

➡ simply print it with pla, bdp, petg or abs. not flexible stuff.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Thanks Jeff,

I'll start the print now, will let you know how it turns out.
(And with me it's my wife who's upset, even more dangerous 😉 )

This was a golden tip Jeff, the difference is enormous! Thanks again
Printed very nicely in ABS

If your printer now "running" over the table, you can use this parts as a base :

Print it with some flexible material 😉

Thanks Thomas, think I might give it a go as well. Perhaps it will make it even more quiet.
It doesn't really 'dance' the wooden table it's on has a bit of a rough structure to it. I think it creates enough friction.

I came across that model too, the same user also has a top part made, although I'm not experienced enough to understand the benefit of it. (looks nice though :))

Hi, I made a different style of Anti-vibration feet, to be printed with flexibles.

I use them, and it works for me, but I used the very flexible rubber-like filament. (flexfill? fillaflex? I always mix those up)

Nice!, looks very similar to something I'm trying to make.

But haven't printed/tested it yet.
I also meant to print in Semiflex and put them under the table legs. To further reduce vibrations that travel through the house.

Mine were modeled after some pads I bought in the hardware store for use with washing machines. Not sure if the geometry is that important, its probably more the effect that its slightly more squishy if its not just a block.
Same idea though i guess 🙂
