Unexpected UNLOAD FILAMENT

I am pretty new to this having built my MK3 kit last month. Since completion, calibration and printing have gone very well. Recently I have purchased a third color of PET from SUNLU. When printing with just this color (black), after 12 minutes the printer stops and states to "UNLOAD FILAMENT". There is no problem, new roll of filament, no tangles- in other words,no reason to stop. After unloading and reloading the same filament, the print resumes and after another 12 minutes, stopped again with the same UNLOAD FILAMENT message. Once again I unload and reload the same filament and the print resumed. After 5 more minutes it happens again. Rinse and repeat... Then the print finished. I have had this same experience with the same roll of filament several times. The other colors print fine and without interruption. The filament is the same dimensions as the other but seems slicker in finish. I increased the tension on the extruder gears slightly thinking it might be slipping with no change. Any ideas what is causing this or how to work around it?

The reference to a similar post was very helpful. This is a very shiny black filament. I had thought about trying it with the sensor turned off, but had not resorted to that yet. So many other filaments are working fine that it seemed like maybe the extreme gloss on this particular color might be being misread. Thank you to RH Dreambox for the reference to the related post.
