The floating knob (embedded bolt)
I am wanting to 3d print a plastic knob (no not that kind) with a metal bolt embedded into it
I have done this successfully before embedding a nut as i just program a colour change at the top of the hex shaped hollow in the knob and then restart the print
I know what to try this with a bolt
Now todo this i either need to drill a hole in the build plate or i need to get the knob to flat above the build plate
however the current version of sl3r handily places any floating objects onto the build plate
Is there a way to get it to let the knob float 20 mm above the build plate on some support material?

I thought there was but I don't see it offhand. It might be easier/faster to just manually add a few key supports to the part in your design tool and then have S3R auto-generate the rest.
Oh Please drill the hole.
It still wont work but you'll be famous.
