Taulman Bridge Nylon - PEI bed adhesion tip

Just want to share a tip about how to get nylon (Taulman Bridge in this case) to stick to the MK3 PEI sheet.

Taulman recommends using Elmers Glue All on glass bed to avoid warping / corners lifting. However, glass bed is not an option on Prusa i3 so I have tested different alternatives to make it stick to the PEI sheet. Elmers Glue All works perfectly on a glass bed but on Prusa PEI it does not stick. The provided Kores glue stick works better as an adhesive to the PEI sheet but nylon don't stick to it so well.

So I eventually found that using Kapton tape with a layer of Elmer's Glue All on top works way better. The PEI bed must be cleaned with alcohol first, then apply Kapton tape and use a roller/scraper to make it stick to the bed. Then use Elmers Glue all on top of it, and let it cure without applying heat to the bed. When done, print the nylon parts and it will stick to the bed perfectly 🙂

EDIT: Don't heat the bed too much, only 45C as Taulman recommends. It may take a while for the Elmers Glue All to cure so be patient. For info, pls read "Adherence to the Printing platform" here: http://taulman3d.com/bridge-nylon.html

Re: Taulman Bridge Nylon - PEI bed adhesion tip

Just try the Taulman 645 Nylon, on mk3.

It's nearly the same as yours (Taulman Bridge).
To be able to print, I've done some modification.

1. Disable filament sensor (natural color filament)
2. Change the tension on the extruder idler springs, I've made 360° on each screw, otherwise, the filament slip a bit, but it depend on the your current setting, mine is very light, to prevent print inconsistency.
3. I've select the preset made by prusa for Taulman Bridge in the Slic3r.
4. And I've used the standard glue (kores) also from prusa.

The print has been done correctly.
But I'll probably try a lower temp for the extrusion for my next print (stringy prints).

The Kores glue stick is not too bad, in fact it is the second best adhesive I've tried to have nylon stick to the bed. However, it is not good enough imo. and causes warping quite easily. Just try print the "warp test" triangular bar that can be found on thingiverse.
